Evaluation and assessment

The teaching of this module made refresh some knowledge and gain much more. The relationship between evaluation and assessment is now clearer to me, as well as the interrelationship between formal testing nad authentic assessment.

This module also made reflect about my own practice as a language teacher, making me realize that I should use more instruments to keep records of authentic assessment. I definitely have to design more rubrics!

Tests have always been here and they will continue being, so, as Claudia wrote in her blog, we need to also implement them in our classes so that our students get prepared for them.

About the implementation of the module in the certificate program I think that either I need more time or I need to leave out something so that I can include the real practical part of it (which was planned, but there was no time). Participants need to either develop tests or design authentic activities, but IN CLASS, with the scaffolding of their teacher and their peers.

I can say that this was a learning experience full of meaning for md, and I hope for the participants too.
